Sandi Jacobs Given Women of Influence Award 2012
Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal recently named SideMark’s President, Sandi Jacobs, as 1 of 100 Women of Influence 2012. The Women of Influence Award recognizes women in high-level positions who affect their industries and make a difference in their communities. As President, Sandi manages a SideMark executive team responsible for five locations California-wide and regularly draws on her personal expertise in all areas of the contract furniture business to find creative solutions.
Her nominators had nothing but positive words for Sandi in regards to her community contributions. Throughout her stint as president, Sandi has encouraged SideMark to work closely with several nonprofits, and she is constantly thinking of ways to connect SideMark offices with local communities. Volunteering time and donating furniture when possible, Sandi and SideMark helped redesign and refurnish the corporate offices of PAWs, a nonprofit which improves the quality of life for people with HIV by providing animal companionship, Taproot, a nonprofit that finds creative talent for organizations working to improve society, and Global Fund for Women, a nonprofit grant making foundation advancing women’s human rights worldwide. Sandi also volunteers her time with Learning through an Expanded Arts Program (LEAP), and coordinates in-office holiday food and toy drives, and organizes coat collection boxes for the homeless. These are just a few of her many community activities.
Within the industry, Sandi works closely with the International Interior Design Association (IIDA), and is the Vice Chair for the Office Furniture Dealers Alliance (OFDA). At SideMark, Sandi has built a business people want to work for and with. Internally, she is the definition of a leader. One of her most admirable qualities is her respect for those with whom she works. She holds herself and her employees to the highest standards of integrity, and she only asks people to do things that she herself would do. Sandi values her business relationships and her clients rave about her because she is not only a consummate professional, she is a genuinely happy person whose happiness is contagious.
